I saw my Midwife, Tanya, today.
Things are looking good!
My blood pressure was 100/70 and my weight was good. I'm gaining an average amount which is o.k. with me. I know it will take some work, but it will come off when it's all said and done.
Tanya measured my uterus and it's at 27 weeks. She also listened to Cricket's heartbeat and it's nice and strong. He is so active and you could hear him kicking the Doppler! It makes me very happy that he is so wiggly!
I also had the glucose test done. I was anticipating a sweet orange drink, but it was a red fruit punch. It tasted like overly sweet kool-aid and an hour later they drew blood. They never did give me the results and I forgot to ask. I'm assuming since they didn't tell me otherwise and didn't call that I passed. The last time they drew blood they didn't call either and I had to wait until my next appointment when they told me that everything was normal.
I made my next appointment before I left and it's in 3 weeks. I've moved from 4 to 3! I guess that's because I'm considered in the 3rd trimester this week.
We discussed things to do including taking birthing classes, a breast feeding class, and preparing for Cricket. We also talked about induction, pitocin, and unnecessary interventions. Basically she said that they would not induce unless I go over 41 weeks and that she would discuss everything with me and Josh and help us make informed decisions then entire way, but that ultimately I need to relax and not focus on what could go wrong.
Have I mentioned how fond I am of my midwife?
Only 12 more weeks to go!
