First cold

Silas has his very first cold.

This is something we have not been looking forward to, but was eventually going to happen.

The poor baby has a stuffy nose and is generally not sleeping very well.

We've been very blessed that Silas only gets up once in the middle of the night. He'll slumber peacefully in the evening and when we put him to bed after a change and feed he'll sleep until 4 in the morning. He takes another bottle and goes back down until 7 or 8.

The last two nights have been really rough. He was up at 1:30, 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and at 7:30 was up for the day. I know it's because he isn't feeling well.

We have some saline for his nose which helps when using the nasal aspirator as well as boogy wipes, but he screams so badly while we are trying to clean him up. The relief on his face afterwards when he can breath freely makes the horrible torture worth it.

Silas doesn't even want to eat because it's so uncomfortable. He has to be sitting up so he can breath and even then it takes forever for him to get down his formula. We keep on attempting it because he needs the fluids, even if he gets frustrated with having to sit up so he can breath.

Having a sick baby is not fun

Babies with colds-yuck yuck yuck! We had to go through that with Henry 2x. He was miserable and there just wasn't enough we could do for him. It's so hard to help them feel better. Henry hated the aspirator! He liked the Saline. It's so heart breaking though to listen to them just gargle breathe.
